Trekking and Climbing of Kilimanjaro Massif and Mt. Meru
Enjoy the breathtaking view from the highest peak in Africa – Uhuru Peak of Mount Kibo, the highest mountain in the Kilimanjaro Massif. The massif is a true magnet for trekkers and climbers from all over the world. While ascending you walk through all vegetation zones, from rain forests to glaciers. And if you have mastered to reach the peak, you will celebrate the majestic view to Tanzania and Kenya the same time. Green Hills of Africa is an ideal starting point for a Kilimanjaro climb and extensive trekking tours.
Mount Meru is the highest free-standing and with its 4562 m the 11th highest mountain in Africa. He is considered as one of the most beautiful volcanoes in the whole East-African-Rift-Valley and ranks as number 3 of the highest mountains in Tanzania. The ascent starts in the lovely Arusha National Park. You will cross flowering grass and bush land, thick rain forest and later rocky lava sections. The mountain is not easy to climb, but if you have mastered its peak, called “Socialist Peak”, you have an impressive view into the crater, to the savannah and, with some luck, to the Kilimanjaro.
